The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, which is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, publishes the website and prepares its content.

Information includes Find Help (treatment locators for behavioral health, buprenorphine, early serious mental illness, opioids and substance use; a suicide and crisis line; and helplines for treatment referrals, disaster-related distress, veterans crisis and drug-free workplace); Substance Use (discussing the risks of specific types of substances along with prevention and treatment); and Mental Health (describing types of mental health conditions and how they are treated, with resources for suicide prevention and mental health in connection with disasters, trauma/violence and recovery).
