FDA.gov: Medical devices

FDA.gov provides information about products the FDA regulates, including medical and dental devices.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) publishes the website and prepares its content.

Tips for use:
– The FDA website is a mix of information for consumers, healthcare professionals, government officials and industry.
“Medical devices” are defined to include “simple items like tongue depressors and bedpans” as well as “complex technologies such as pacemakers, surgical implants and prosthetics” and cosmetic devices such as dermal fillers and breast implants.
– For consumer information about medical devices, see Consumers (Medical Devices) and Consumer Updates/Medical Devices, or enter the name of a specific device (such as hearing aids, cosmetic fillers or contact lens) in the website search box.
Devices@FDA is a searchable database of devices the FDA has approved.
