MedlinePlus.gov: Herbs & Supps

MedlinePlus.gov provides easy to read information about thousands of health topics, including Herbs and Supplements.

The National Library of Medicine, which is part of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), publishes the website. For each herb or supplement, the source of information is listed as the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH); the Office of Dietary Supplements at the NIH (ODS); or the National Cancer Institute at the NIH (NCI). (Previously, sources included the Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database (Natural Medicines)).

Information includes Herbs and Supplements (an A-Z index with information about the source of each product, how it has been used, and what is known about its safety and effectiveness) and a Guide to Herbal Remedies in general.
