CDC.gov provides extensive information about how to prevent illness, injury and disease.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), which is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, publishes the website and prepares its content. The CDC’s website describes its current mission.

Information includes a searchable Health Topics A-Z Index selected for relevance to “a broad cross section” of the websites audience (consumers, healthcare professionals and researchers). Topics include Traveler’s Health; Emergency Preparedness and Response; Injury and Violence Prevention; Environmental Health; and COVID-19.

Tips for use:
– The home page highlights current health topics.
– Separate from the search box for the A-Z Index, there is a search box for the entire website that can be filtered by audience (consumers, public health professionals and healthcare providers).
