TriageHealth.org provides information about insurance, financial and legal issues that can arise in connection with a diagnosis of cancer or other serious condition.
Triage Cancer, a nonprofit organization, publishes the website and prepares its content. It lists a number of attorneys and a registered nurse among its staff. Various pharmaceutical companies are identified as sponsors of the website.
Information includes Resources by Topic (including health insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, disability insurance, employment, navigating finances, estate planning, legal issues, caregiving, military & veterans and fire service members); and Resources by Location (state-by-state agencies, laws and consumer protections).
Tips for use:
– A different format for accessing similar information is available on companion website triagecancer.org; see Cancer Finances (detailed modules on topics where cancer treatment can affect finances, including education, employment, estate planning, housing and insurance).
– Also on companion website triagecancer.org, some resources are available in Spanish.
